1928 Army vs. Notre Dame "Win One for the Gipper" Program

1928 Army vs. Notre Dame "Win One for the Gipper" Program

On his death bed at the tender age of 25, George Gipp told coach Knute Rockne the following famous words."I've got to go, Rock. It's all right. I'm not afraid. Some time, Rock, when the team is up against it, when things are wrong and the breaks are beating the boys, ask them to go in there with all they've got and win just one for the Gipper. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock. But I'll know about it, and I'll be happy." Rockne used that speech to rally his team against Army, and the Irish won the game 12-6. This is the program from that very game and it's in VG condition. There are a couple stains on the cover but it is still a very presentable copy.
