1928 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball

1928 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball

Unearthed from the depths of the original Golden Age of baseball, this one is a marvel and quite a sight to behold. Recently discovered and seeing the light of day for the very first time, this is one of the finest signed baseball from this dynamic hitting duo that we have ever handled, boasting signatures from Babe Ruth (on sweet spot) & Lou Gehrig (on panel to the left) which grade as virtual “9’s” out of a possible 10. This level of autographs is almost unheard of. Incredibly, the ball was kept in its original case and never handled by anyone during the entire time following the day it was signed back on Oct. 30, 1928. Delightfully, the ball has been inscribed on a separate panel with the exact date, “Oct. 30, 1928.” The condition of this true and genuine beauty is so far unmatched, and deserves equal attention to the high quality of the autographs. Near white and NRMT condition, its prominent stampings read “League Special, Genuine Horsehide Center”, “No. 21, 5 oz. 9 in. Rubber Center” and “McKinnon Sporting Goods”. Inscribed on separate panel (not visible while displaying both signatures) is the name of the original owner of this baseball. Comes with the remaining two thirds of the baseball’s original cardboard box (Fair) and an LOA from our consignor, whose father stored the ball, and gave it to her 15 years ago.
