1928 New York Yankees Team Signed Album with Ruth and Gehrig.
One of the more interesting Yankee autographed items that we have seen. Ornate 8 x 10" baby album features 24 pages of vintage photos and info. relating to a late 1920's newborn. On the very last page of the album, twenty three members of the 1928 World Champion New York Yankees have penned their signatures beneath the inscription, "With best wishes to "Baby". from the Yankees". Bold (10/10) black fountain pen autographs include: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Herb Pennock, Tony Lazzeri, Miller Huggins, Earle Combs, Leo Durocher, Waite Hoyt, John Grabowski, Mark Koenig, Joe Dugan, Wilcy Moore, Bennie Bengough, Pat Collins, Doc Woods (head athletic trainer), and more. Album remains in Excellent Condition overall, with the exception of minor staining on some of the pages. Signature page shows only light soiling and wear around the edges with one small blemish barely touching the "L" in Lazzeri's signature. One Non-Yankee autograph (most likely a family member or friend of the baby) appears far away from the other signatures on the page, but is mentioned for the sake of accuracy. Piece originates from the Barry Halper Collection and is noted as such on the front cover.
