1929 Babe Ruth in the Dugout Original Glass Plate Negative - Possible 1933 Goudey Connection

1929 Babe Ruth in the Dugout Original Glass Plate Negative - Possible 1933 Goudey Connection

Original glass plate negative capturing Babe Ruth sitting on the steps of the dugout at Yankee Stadium. This is an intriguing image because it is reminiscent of the famous photo of Ruth that was used on his 1933 Goudey card #181. Here, Ruth is seen staring pensively into the camera as he rests his hand on the array of lumber in front of him. Although no year is listed, we know that the image must date between the years 1929 and 1934 because the Yankees first wore uniform numbers in 1929 and Ruth's final season with the Yankees was 1934. The negative (7x5") displays a tiny loss of emulsion along the base and is otherwise in Excellent condition. Accompanied by a small positive photo of the image printed on paper.
