1929 World Series Program at Philadelphia

1929 World Series Program at Philadelphia

Program from the 1929 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Athletics. The Wrigley Field program cover features lovely bright colors along with photos of Connie Mack (manager of the Atheltics) and Joe McCarthy (manager of the Cubs). The bold font and exciting colors make this one a real eye-catcher. Interior is unscored and is overall NRMT. Has a soft violet rope tassel for binding. Mack's Athletics won the series 4 games to 1 over the Cubs, which featured a legendary comeback in game 4 by the Athletics that included overcoming an 8-run deficit, along with the infamous play where Cubs centerfielder Hack Wilson lost a fly ball in the sun, which resulted in a bases-clearing inside-the-park home run for the Athletics.
