1930's Lou Gehrig Signed Photograph (5x7" framed)

1930's Lou Gehrig Signed Photograph (5x7" framed)

For every fifty signed Ruth photos you see, you'll see maybe one of these. Personal, one-of-a-kind snapshot was signed for a young Italian man who thought the man in this photograph was Tony Lazzeri. But he held onto the souvenir anyhow, perhaps realizing only later that he had encountered true royalty. The Iron Horse stands at the edge of the visiting dugout with an accomodating grin, above the dark black ink inscription, "To John, With Kindest Regards, Lou Gehrig." Cracks in the emulsion cross the inscription, but the signature is only lightly touched by creasing. Display value is still top notch. A fine tribute to the quiet dignity of one of the game's truest heroes.
