Circa 1938 Lou Gehrig Signed Photograph (8x10")
The Iron Horse on horseback. Great photo was obviously snapped on the set of Gehrig's "Rawhide," the Yankee star's mediocre silver screen debut. There's nothing mediocre about Gehrig's blue ink inscription though, rating 9/10 and reading, "Joseph J. Bihler, with my sincerest and best always, Lou Gehrig." Joining Gehrig in the photograph and with their equally strong signatures are Yankee owner and manager Jacob Ruppert and Joe McCarthy respectively. We're quite sure that the fourth man in the photograph is Bihler himself, who served as secretary to Christy Walsh, Gehrig and Ruth's famed agent. Photo itself could easily be framed to appear NRMT. Gehrig photos are getting tougher and tougher to come by, and their value will only rise in the future.
