1930 Babe Ruth and Knute Rockne Photograph (PSA Type I)
Original Type I photograph capturing Babe Ruth in an upscale haberdashery as he helps legendary Notre Dame football coach Knute Rockne pick out a hat. According to the original paper news caption on the reverse, Ruth had a vested interest in the sale, because he owned the store. In full: "Babe Ruth trying a hat on Knute Rockne, coach of the Notre Dame football team, in the new 'Babe' Ruth's Men's Shop which was opened recently by the home run king." A "Boston Herald" credit stamp and the handwritten date "9/12/30" also appear on the reverse. The photo (7x9") displays a few light creases. Very Good condition. Encapsulated as Type I Authentic by PSA.
