1930 Ray-o-Print Babe Ruth - RARE!

1930 Ray-o-Print Babe Ruth - RARE!

Very rare Babe Ruth card from the 1930 Ray-o-Print set. Distributed by the M.P. & Co. in New York, these cards were all the rage back then, having children create their own cards via a self-developing photo kit, which was housed in an original envelope which had the directions. Of course, children don't follow directions that easily and many, many examples did not develop as instructed. Cards which are underdeveloped are the norm.

However, our offered Babe Ruth Ray-o-Print card is a superbly developed example, with Ruth clearly visible right down to the part in his hair and ripples in his Yankee jersey. The brown borders are full of color and attractively frame the image. There are a couple light indentations into the glossy surface, none affecting the wonderful image of Ruth.

Issued during the height or Ruth's fame, this card is one of the most rare cards from that popular era. Rarely seen in this high grade.
