1930s Primo Carnera Boxing Windup

1930s Primo Carnera Boxing Windup

This hand-painted tin toy was modeled after Primo Carnera; it has the "slicked back" hair that was his trademark as a member of the boxing elite from this exciting and memorable period. He was so loved in all of Europe, but Italy was so proud that one of their own became the World Heavyweight Champion. This toy was constructed in Italy during that period as an ode to Primo. The toy is in perfect working condition and still has the original key, darkened with age, and displays great action; when you wind up the mechanism, Primo boxes the big red ball. It measures 7.5" high and has 99% of its original paint. Rare, as we have never seen this before.
