1931 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball

1931 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball

ONL (Heydler) baseball was signed by Yankee Hall of Famers Ruth, Gehrig and Combs on August 10, 1931, as the Bombers met the Cincinnati Reds at a Redland Field exhibition game. LOA from the young man who was on hand to receive the signatures explains the events, noting that Ruth and Gehrig each hit home runs that day. Accompanying photocopy of the sports page from the next day backs up this story. All three signatures are dark and strong, with some minimal scuffing touching them, but no fading of ink. All look great. Panel below the sweet spot is dated and marked with the names of both the consignor and his grandfather, who took him to the game. Absolutely flawless provenance, and a gorgeous ball to boot.
