1931 Honus Wagner Single-Signed "Christmas Eve" Baseball (PSA)

1931 Honus Wagner Single-Signed "Christmas Eve" Baseball (PSA)

<p>In 1931, some lucky fan received an early Christmas gift when the famed "Flying Dutchman," Honus Wagner, took the time to sign and date this Spalding "Official Nat. League Jr." ball. Wagner has scripted his name, "J. Honus Wagner" in black fountain pen (grading 7/10), while adding the date "12/24/31" at the end. It should be noted that the signature and date have been written across the sweet spot, but in such an expansive fashion that they occupy large portions of both the West and East panels, making this one of the longest Wagner signatures we have seen on a ball. The ball is moderately soiled, but all the manufacturer's stampings remain legible. A number of moderate abrasions and nicks are evident throughout. While technically in Good condition, the size of the signature, and the dating outweigh most of the cosmetic flaws, making this an exceptional Wagner single-signed ball.
