It was the star infielder's final year in the majors, so he knew what he liked in a bat, and he liked this one. Nicely used signature model Hillerich & Bradsby is side written, "L.A. Fonseca, 6.13.33" in thick graphite. Such notations were made when a bat was returned to H&B to be copied for further production.
