1933 Moe Berg Washington Senators Wire Photo

1933 Moe Berg Washington Senators Wire Photo

Type I photograph of one of baseball's most eccentric players, Moe Berg, with its original paper caption. The photo comes from the year Berg won the American League pennant in 1933 with the Washington Senators, though the Senators lost to the New York Giants in the World Series. Berg, who was never known for his on-field prowess, gained notoriety as a quirky and cerebral player, and forged a fascinating post-baseball career as a spy for the Office of Strategic Services and later the CIA. The photo of the enigmatic ballplayer is in gorgeous condition.
