1934 Babe Ruth 699th Home Run Photograph w/Lou Gehrig PSA Type I Photo
Original Type I photograph capturing Babe Ruth after hitting his 699th career home run as a member of the New York Yankees in 1934. Ruth is pictured nearing home plate as Lou Gehrig waits to greet him. The original Associated Press news caption, dated 7/9/34, is affixed to the reverse. As noted in the caption, Ruth was playing in his twenty first Major League season in 1934, which would also mark his final year with the Yankees. The photo (8.5x6.5") displays a few light surface wrinkles and is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
