1934 Dizzy and Daffy Dean Beech-Nut Advertising Display

1934 Dizzy and Daffy Dean Beech-Nut Advertising Display

An extraordinary full-color store diecut, this 30.5x41.5" display features Dizzy Dean and his brother Paul promoting Lorillard's Beech-Nut Chewing Tobacco. Fantastic imagery taken from a classic photographic shows the famous brothers standing side-by-side in their Cardinal uniforms, each with an outstretched hand holding a baseball. The backdrop consists of a large baseball glove with a package of Beech-Nut Tobacco in the pocket. "A Great Chew" is printed along the bottom in bold blue letters. Many things are "in play" here to make this one helluva piece - magnificent graphics, resonant colors, beloved baseball brothers, the Depression - make this historically important and one of the best sports advertising pieces of the 20th Century. It has been re-backed but is otherwise 100% all there. There has been some restoration in terms of flattening and in-painting. The finished product is magnificent and only adds to this magnificent display for the ages.
