1935 Babe Ruth Original Charles Conlon Film Negative
<p><span style="background: white none repeat scroll 0% 0%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; color: #333333;">Original film negative, capturing Babe Ruth as a member of the Boston Braves, produced by renowned baseball photographer Charles Conlon. The photo pictures Ruth at the plate in his follow-through swing during pregame batting practice. Ruth’s name and team affiliation are written along the top border. Accompanied by its original paper sleeve that has “Babe Ruth/Boston Nat/Batting” written in blue fountain pen on the front. Although neither Conlon’s name nor stamp appear on the negative or sleeve, the handwriting on the sleeve is unmistakably that of Conlon. (Conlon reused the sleeve, as another player’s name and team affiliation are crossed out on the reverse.) 1935 was Ruth’s final season in baseball and the only year he played with the Boston Braves. The negative (3.75x4.75”) remains in Excellent condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. </span></p>
