1935 Cole’s American Giants Negro League Contract

1935 Cole’s American Giants Negro League Contract

From the team that initially entered the Negro American League in 1933 as Cole’s American Giants, this team became in 1937 the Chicago American Giants, among the elite of Negro League teams. This “National Association of Negro Base Ball Leagues Uniform Player’s Contract” ifs for the player Zachary Clayton of Philadelphia, Pa. Very interesting group of autographs on the inside as this contract is more “filled out” than any MLB contract you will ever see. There are two autographs of legendary team owner Robert A. Cole, witnesses “H.G. Hall” with one other, and the notary public. There are separation tears and small chips at the end of these separations. The ink is dark and very mint.
