1935 Jay Berwanger Last Game Signed Program
Jay Berwanger is the answer to the trivia question, "who was selected first in the inaugural NFL draft of 1936?" While he never played a professional game due to a contract impasse, he still had a storied collegiate career at the University of Chicago, where he was known as the "one man football team." This item is a signed program from Berwanger's final game, played at Illinois Memorial Stadium on November 23, 1935 against the University of Illinois. The college star signed the top of the cover in 8.5/10 blue marker, as well as inside above an article about his final game. The cover shows a tear at the binding and some wear, but the program as a whole is in VG-EX condition. Lot also includes a ticket stub from this contest.
