1935 Jimmie Foxx Philadelphia Athletics Photograph (PSA Type I)

1935 Jimmie Foxx Philadelphia Athletics Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph capturing Hall of Fame slugger Jimmie Foxx as a member of the Philadelphia Athletics in 1935. Foxx is pictured holding a bat as he poses on the sideline prior to a game. A New York Sun credit stamp, dated Apr 20 1935, appears on the reverse, along with a few handwritten editorial notations. 1935 marked Foxx's final season in Philadelphia. It was during his eight full seasons (1928-1935) with the A's that Foxx earned his nickname "The Beast." Foxx led the league in home runs three times during that span (including a career-high 58 in 1932) and won the coveted Triple Crown in 1933. He also helped lead the club to three consecutive pennants and two World Championships from 1929-1931. The photo (6.5x8.5") remains in Excellent to Mint condition. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
