1935 Who's Who in Football Signed By The Chicago Bears (34)

1935 Who's Who in Football Signed By The Chicago Bears (34)

The Bears originated in Decatur, Illinois in 1919 and moved to the largest city in the state two years later, eventually winning the first official NFL championship in 1933 under George Halas. And "Papa Bear" is one of five Hall of Famers to sign this "Who's Who in Major League Football" program. There are 33 signatures in all (1 duplicate), all representing the Bears, including Nagurski, Rockne, Hewitt And Musso. All are vintage signed in black fountain pen. Some are very tough Bears signatures from players who participated in the 1934 Championship Game, otherwise known as the "Sneaker Bowl" since the New York Giants de-"feet"-ed Chicago, 30-13 while wearing sneakers on the icy field at the Polo Grounds. Signatures average 8 out of 10, and the magazine rates VG.
