1936 James Braddock Signed Headshot
Braddock earned the "Cinderella Man" sobriquet, bequeathed by Damon Runyon, when he came back off the docks to upset both John "Corn" Griffin and John Henry Lewis, and earn a Heavyweight Title fight against Max Baer. With Baer viewing the bout as a tune-up, Braddock completed his miraculous comeback to take the title, in a unanimous decision. Braddock inscribes the photo, making a pun as he writes, "To the Athletic Board of Michigang (sic) - A great body of men. Sincerest Best Wishes, Jimmy Braddock 10/29/36." Framed 14.5x17.5". A valuable, inspiring memento from a champion who wouldn't quit.
Size: E.S.
