1936 James Naismith Signed Photograph to His Wife (JSA)
This charming portrait of James Naismith was signed by Naismith himself and given to his wife with an accompanying note in the bottom right corner that reads, "To Evelyn Naismith, from James Naismith." Naismith invented the game of basketball in 1891 at the age of 30 and was alive to see several of its milestones, including being adopted as an Olympic demonstration sport in 1904 and an official event in 1936, as well as the advent of the NIT and NCAA Tournament in 1938 and '39, respectively. Basketball's founding father appears in this print with his iconic spectacles and mustache, and his signature rates 8/10. The print measures 8x11", but the frame is 18x22". There is a small crease on the top of the print. Comes with JSA LOA.
