1936 Joe Louis Promotional Complete Wall Calendar
1936 Joe Louis promotional wall calendar. The piece measures 15 x 8 1/2" and retains its art deco style 1936 calendar month covering. It has a 1935 copyright Brown and Bigelow image of The Brown Bomber in fighting stance ready to throw a jab. The calendar was a promotional giveaway for Jones Brothers Funeral Home in Dayton Ohio. The image of Louis has a 3" diagonal scratch from Joe's leg running to the image border. It has a very small bit of paper loss above Joe's right shoulder. The tack hole is clearly defined but has a split where the calendar may have been yanked off of the wall suddenly. Some minor corner and edge creases that do not affect the image of Louis. Generally very good condition of this scarcer Louis piece.
