1936 Wolverine Gum Strange True Stories Near Set Plus Duplicates (22)
The card backs advertise 260 Super-Exciting Strange True Stories, though Wolverine Gum only wound up issuing 24 Strange True Stories, failing to follow through on such an ambitious project. Finding a complete set of those is extremely difficult, but 17 of the 24 are represented here, along with five duplicates. They are colorful, average VG condition and boast fascinating titles such as "Drowned By a Clam," "In the Grip of the Python" and "The Batman." The five dupes include #1, 1, 4, 13 and 22. These are highly coveted collector's items.
