1937 "Champion Sports Wallet" Complete Set With Joe Louis & Max Schmeling In Original Wallet
A great premium piece, each booklet was acquired separately from The Champion Periodical. Inside, the cards fold out accordion-style and each booklet contains six different cards, all continuous and attached. This wallet is complete and contains eight booklets with six cards in each for a total of 48 cards. These set booklets turn up occasionally but it is rare to find a complete set with the original "Wallet" that was provided to create the collection. The sets include Wizards of the Football Field, Football's Finest Goalgetters, Sporting Marvels in all Sorts of Sports, Sporting Film Favourites, Ace Drivers of the Motor Track, The Speedway's Big Broadsiders, Famous Fighters in Action, and Super-Men of the Skyways. The best cards are boxing, which consists of Max Baer, Primo Carnera, Jock McAvoy, Max Schmeling, Joe Louis, Jim Braddock, Len Harvey and Jack Peterson. Though the wallet shows wear, the eight booklets with the insert cards are NRMT. The wallet measures 3.5x5.25" and opens to 5.25x14".
