In 1937 the Yankees continued their mastery over their cross-town rivals sweeping the Giants behind a pair of dominating performances from Lefty Gomez. It would be there second of four consecutive titles and the beginning of their greatest dynasty in franchise history. This OAL (Harridge) baseball, owner of twenty-three World Champion signatures, is attractively toned to a smooth cream color with stampings that are dark and pronounced, preserved under a light layer of shellac. Handsomely signed in black fountain pen are names such as Gehrig, DiMaggio, Crosetti, Lazzeri, Ruffing, Gomez, Dickey, Jorgens, Rolfe, Henrich, Pearson, McCarthy (secretarial signature) Combs, and McCorsky. The ink of most marks is strong and fluent warranting an overall grade of 7/10.
