1938 All Star Game Program, Ticket and Letter

1938 All Star Game Program, Ticket and Letter

The 1938 All-Star Game in Cincinnati was the sixth to be held. While the National League's 4-1 victory may be little more than a footnote, the players who participated certainly were not. Jimmie Foxx, Joe DiMaggio, Bill Dickey, Mel Ott, Lefty Gomez and Johnny Vander Meer were only some of the luminaries who graced Crosley Field that July 6. The program from this game is in VG-EX condition and is unscored. The lot also includes a ticket which has a staple hole but otherwise VG-EX, as well as a 1938 letter on Reds stationary is signed by Warren Giles and refers to All Star Game tickets. The letter has typical mailing folds and a small stain in the top corner but is also in EX condition.
