1938 Louis-Schmeling Yankee Stadium Fight Program
20-page program dated June 22, 1938 marks what was perhaps the most important fight of the Brown Bomber's career. After a shocking upset in their first bout Louis returned focused and determined, set on attacking his German opponent from the opening bell. And that he did, launching an indefensible barrage of punches he quickly forced Schmelling and his corner into submission. Illustrated portraits of both fighters above Yankee Stadium fills the cover in bold colors that have remained vibrant.
