1938 World Series Team-Signed Program by World Champion Yankees Inc. Lou Gehrig (PSA)
1938 World Series program. Signatures: Lou Gehrig (HOF), Joe Gordon (HOF), Lefty Gomez (HOF), Frank Crosetti, Johnny Murphy, Jake Powell, Red Rolfe, Bump Hadley, Wes Ferrell and more. An included PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity lists the aforementioned signatures as AUTHENTIC. The LOA also shows that there are 24 signatures, but 15 are clubhouse: Bill Dickey, Art Jorgens, Bill Knickerbocker, Paul Schreiber, Monte Pearson, Paul Andrews, Joe DiMaggio, Steve Sundra, Babe Dahlgren, Joe Glenn, George Selkirk, Red Ruffing, Myril Hoag, Spud Chandler, and Tommy Heinrich. The original owner's last name is written in pencil on top left corner of the front. The 24-page program has a colorful art rendering on the cover and an unused scorecard inside. The 1938 New York Yankees swept this Series for their third straight championship, then a record for consecutive World Series championships. The Series marked the Yankees seventh championship. Bill Dickey hit .400 for the Yankees in the Series. Sadly, Lou Gehrig, already ailing, went 4 for 14 in the Series, all singles. It would be the last World Series appearance for the Iron Horse. The 8.75x11.75" program has some very small paper loss in a few spots, particularly on the edges of the cover, both front and back, but the program is in good overall condition.
