1938/39 Lou Gehrig Game Used Bat (35 1/8" 35.6 oz)

1938/39 Lou Gehrig Game Used Bat (35 1/8" 35.6 oz)

Hillerich & Bradsby 125 is possibly the most desirable bat of all New York Yankee legends. With only a handful of Lou Gehrig gamers known, this one is nothing short of exceptional. This one has it all: great use, nice markings, perfect specs, and the sacred touch of one of the greatest hitters and all around players in history. And the timing couldn't be more special. Used in the later part of 1938 or early in the 1939 season, the year that Gehrig announced his exit from the game and proclaimed himself as "the luckiest man on the face of the earth." Henry Louis Gehrig exemplified dignity, pride and hard work. This piece of lumber is a truly beautiful piece of his remarkable legacy. The use is perfect: slightly darkened handle from the repeated grip of the Iron Horse, excellent ball and cleat marks on the barrel, no cracks and extra small knob, consistent with his specifications. One of the nicest we have come across in a long while.
