1939-46 Ernie Lombardi Signed Baseball Exhibit Card (PSA)

1939-46 Ernie Lombardi Signed Baseball Exhibit Card (PSA)

Beautiful exhibit card of Cincinnati Reds’ great Ernie Lombardi, signed boldly parallel to his image. Card has softly rounded corners and his autograph has been certified ‘authentic’ by PSA/DNA. Back is clean save for a light stamp of a previous owner. Baseball historian Bill James once called Lombardi ‘the slowest all-star ever to play major league baseball.’ The fact that he was so slow spoke to what an outstanding hitter he was; Lombardi was an All-Star for seven seasons, hit over .300 for ten seasons and finished his Major League career with a .306 batting average. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986.A very pleasing autograph of a great baseball all-star.
