1939 Johnny Mize Presentational Trophy (30" tall)

1939 Johnny Mize Presentational Trophy (30" tall)

Can you name the two greatest things about this piece? Well, here's our feeling. First, it was presented to Hall of Famer Johnny Mize. And, secondly, it dates to one of the most important years in baseball history, that action-packed centennial season. Plaque on the face of this sizable prize reads, "Award of Honor to John Robert Mize, Voted Most Popular Player, St. Louis Cardinals, by Radio Baseball Fans, KMOX, 1939." No wonder he was so popular--the Big Cat came up only a few RBI's short of the elusive Triple Crown this year! Condition of trophy is very strong, showing definite aging but nothing that we would call "damage." Just the look you want in a piece of this vintage.
