1939 Negro League All Stars Signed Baseball with Josh Gibson

1939 Negro League All Stars Signed Baseball with Josh Gibson

Exceptionally rare team signed baseball boasts some of the greatest names the Negro Leagues ever produced. The collective skill on these Negro League All Star teams was as valuable as any major league All Star squad. Baseball complete with such legendary signatures as the Black Babe Ruth -Josh Gibson, Buck Leonard, Oscar Charlston (printed) & Williams. This amazing game used ball is one of only three known balls with an authentic Josh Gibson signature! In fact, a team signed baseball from Negro Leaguers is itself an extreme rarity. Gibson is light, but the ball’s significance is monumental! Evidence of game use pervades much of its surface. Ball is inscribed with “All Star Game Yankee Stadium July 27, 1939.” At its peak, the Negro Leagues were a $2 million-a-year enterprise, the largest black owned business in the country. After integration into the Majors, the teams disbanded, closing out the Negro Leagues in the 1950's. This is an incredible piece of memorabilia from black baseball's golden age.
