1939 Santa Anita Program, Seabiscuit Injured

1939 Santa Anita Program, Seabiscuit Injured

One year before winning the handicap in his last start, Seabiscuit was scheduled to race at Santa Anita Park on Tuesday, February 14, 1939. Alas, the best laid plans of mice and horses, the thoroughbred pulled up lame and did not compete. This 4x9" program from that day is colorful and in VG+ condition with many pencil scribblings and cross-outs on the inside. A year later, Seabiscuit would go on to win the Santa Anita Handicap in his last start.
