1939 World Series Final Out Baseball Inscribed by Frank Crosetti

1939 World Series Final Out Baseball Inscribed by Frank Crosetti

The 1939 New York Yankees epitomized the reason why the franchise is called a dynasty. The Yankees victimized the Cincinnati Reds to perform their second consecutive World Series sweep, claiming their 4th straight World Championship. This historic sphere is a true piece of baseball history, the very ball that Yankee shortstop, Frank Crosetti caught for the final out of the 1939 World Series, a line drive from Wally Berger, that he reportedly almost dropped. Crosetti has inscribed the ball in blue ink, filling the sweet spot plus two panels: "Oct. 8th, 1939 - ball hit by Wally Berger, caught by Crosetti. Final putout 1939 World Series - New York vs. Cincinnati." OAL (Frick) baseball shows moderate amount of game use, o/w NRMT to Mint. Came directly from Crosetti. LOA.
