1940's Ted Williams Game Used Red Sox Jacket

1940's Ted Williams Game Used Red Sox Jacket

When the legendary Red Sox outfielder was “The Kid.” Ted Williams wore this Boston jacket during the 1940s when he was twice an MVP, several times an All Star, and a pilot in the Marine Corps during WWII. A definitive highlight is the red embroidered “9” chain-stitched onto a small blue patch on the inside of the right lapel at its bottom. Jacket certainly has seen some use, with the interior’s fur lining spotty around the shoulders and collar, the ribbed collar, cuffs, and waistband torn and split, and its outer coat moth-bitten with a few holes. Leather-trimmed pockets have remained in good shape. Buttons remain, with their counterpart eyelets containing some team-repairs. Collar tagging is bitten, but has size “48” readable, and hang strap is intact. All in all a survivor, and a great piece.
