1940s Big L "Johnny the Fifer" Beer Mascot Baseball Jacket
This heavy woolen navy blue jacket with white trim was manufactured by Butwin, the label reads "the jacket for champions" with large chenille "L" applique on round red circle. Full color satin advertising figure of Johnny Fifer the mascot of Pfeiffer Brewing Company. The jacket has a small figure on the front and large one on the jacket's reverse. Designed by the Walt Disney Company in the 1940s, Johnny Fifer popularized the beer throughout the United States. The company had this this jacket produced and personalized for players, distributed with its logo to promote baseball and the sale of their beer. There is a hole in one pocket, otherwise in EX condition.
