1940s Bobby Layne Tex Tan Belts Die-Cut Cardboard Standee w/Actual Belts
This is the only specimen known of this magnificent die-cut cardboard countertop store display with back easel. Bobby Layne of Texas University promotes "TexTan of Yoakum" leather belts; this fine western belt and saddle manufacturer has been around since 1919. It displays minor wear and a repaired split at Bobby's neck and.measures 12x17.5". It is very unusual to find pieces relating to his college stint. Layne was inducted into both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. Comes from the Gus LeDonne collection, legendary football and sports collector who passed away too soon in 2013.
