1940s Charlie Trippi "John C. Roberts Shoes" Cardboard Sign
This vintage cardboard advertising standee depicts superstar running back Charlie Trippi of the Chicago Cardinals in classic form, with legend that reads, "After The Final Whistle He Wears John C. Roberts Shoes." The easel backing is unused and the images are crisp, though there is some chipping at the edges. Interestingly, it also has a paper advertising poster for John Roberts shoes taped onto the sign, with the entire piece grading in EX condition. Trippi was a three-time All-Pro, including his 1947 championship season with the Cardinals. From the Gus LeDonne collection, legendary football and sports collector who passed away too soon in 2013.
