1940s Hall of Famer Bobby Locke Golf Photos (14)
Bobby Locke, great South African golfer and 4 time British Open champion is the subject of this collection of wire photos (14). Sizes range from 7" x 5" to 8 1/2" x 12". Conditions range from GD-NRMT with many in EX. Several game action shots from Tam O'Shanter. A great photo shows Locke at the 1949 British Open at St. George's Course which he won in a playoff versus Irishman Harry Bradshaw. Locke was involved in a serious car accident in 1959 which ultimately put an end to his career. He was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1977. He was the first non U.S. or U.K. player to be elected.
