1940s Mel Ott Game Used Bat

1940s Mel Ott Game Used Bat

This Louisville Slugger Hillerich & Bradsby 125 baseball bat was used by Hall of Famer Mel Ott in the early 1940s. Featuring no visible splinters or cracks, the finish off the wood of this bat has been professionally restored to its original state. At one time, this bat included the signatures of members the New York Giants baseball team, but those autographs were removed when the barrel of the bat was given a new coat of finish. Otherwise, it is 100% original with nice use visible, including scoring on the handle and barrel. This beautiful piece measures 35 inches and weighs 31 ounces. "Melvin Ott" is etched in semi-faded black cursive on the barrel of the bat, approximately six inches from the end.
