1940s Yankee Stadium Peanut Vendor's Basket (ex-Harry M. Stevens)

1940s Yankee Stadium Peanut Vendor's Basket (ex-Harry M. Stevens)

GET YOUR RED HOTS HERE! As long as there has been professional baseball, there have been vendors roaming the stands supplementing the fan experience with beer and all sorts of goodies. This extremely rare woven wooden basket was used for hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn and who knows what else. It was obtained from Yankee Stadium during the renovations of 1974 and '75 and dates back to the earliest days of The Stadium. "HMS Inc." is stamped on one side, representing Harry M. Stevens, America's foremost ballpark concessionaire since the late 1800s. There are some cracks and breaks visible but that hardly diminishes its overall authenticity and splendor. From Harry M. Stevens auction.
