1941 Buddy Rosar New York Yankee Game Worn Jersey
Buddy Rosar was Bill Dickey's backup catcher on the 1941 New York Yankees powerhouse team that won the pennant by 17 games and bounced the Brooklyn Dodgers in the World Series. Rosar's home Yankee uniform shirt is a wonderful souvenir of the momentous season of Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak and Ted Williams .406 average. The extremely tough wool jersey has a "Health" patch on the left sleeve. The patch has been restored, as has the front of the jersey with the "NY" logo on the chest. The back with the number "12" appears to be original. There is a "Spalding" label in the collar with size "S" beneath the lettering "Rosar" in red chain stitch. Obvious wear but very little damage save for a few minor rips most obviously one on the neck.
