1941 Homestead Grays vs. Newark Eagles Program
Period advertisements abound in this rare and beautiful 1941 NY Giants regular season baseball program that carries in its center the unmarked scorecard of a Negro League contest between the Homestead Grays and the Newark Eagles. The game was held at the Polo Grounds, and the cover to this program is exquisite, with strong colors and a crisp, modern design. Greats in the lineup include Williams, Leonard, Wilson, Harris, Brown, Day, Irvin, Pearson, Mackey and Hooker, to name a few. Unscored and EX, but for some tape and tape marks on the back cover.
