When Jim Thorpe enrolled in 1904, his school was known as Carlisle Indian Industrial School, but by the time he was honored in 1941 the Pennsylvania institution was simply known as "Carlisle High School." This is a one page, double-sided program from "Jim Thorpe Night," which was held at the school on February 17, 1941. On the side with the great athlete's photograph is his signature, rendered in 8/10 black ink. On the bottom of the verso, beneath the event's sponsors, is written a notation in pencil regarding Thorpe's divorce from his wife Freda, which took place weeks after this ceremony. The item has a light crease in the middle but is generally in Excellent condition.
