1941 Joe DiMaggio as Santa Claus With Joe Dimaggio Jr. Signed Original Wire Photo (PSA)

Presented is an Associated Press Original Wire Photo of Joe DiMaggio and his newly born son. The verbiage on the back of the photo reads, "Joe DiMaggio, who is usually seen in a New York Yankees uniform, donned a Santa Claus suit in New York on Dec 23 as a prelude to the first Christmas for his son, Joe DiMaggio III [actually DiMaggio's son was called Joe DiMaggio jr.], just over a month old." Joe had quite a year in 1941. He was the American League MVP as he hit .357 with 30 home runs and led the league with 125 RBIs and 348 total bases. As usual, his New York Yankees won the World Series. The son is from the Hall of Famer's marriage to actress Dorothy Arnold. This original photo has a JSA Letter of Authenticity. The photo has some crinkling near the edges. The teletype verbiage on the back has some tears. Handwritten on the back, in an unknown hand, is "with Joe, Jr." The Yankee Clipper signed the photo is neatly signed by what appears to be a blue marker. The photo was taken just a few weeks after the American entrance into World War II, so the happen scene comes amidst a natural foreboding about world events. PSA LOA.
