A World Heavyweight Champion, Charles was known as the "Cincinnati Cobra". 1) Charles versus Anton Christofordis fight on September 9, 1941, at Crosley Field in Charles' hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. The fight was postponed and then held on January 12, 1942, at Cincinnati's Music Hall Arena. Charles won by a TKO. Poster has minor staining and slight paper loss in corners, otherwise good condition. Placed on a white, cardboard backing. 18x28"; 2) Charles versus Oakland Billy Smith on February 17, 1947, at Music Hall Arena, Cincinnati. Charles won by a knockout in the 5th. round. Poster shows staining, particularly in corners and edges, and some minor paper loss. 18x24".
