The 1943 All-Star game at Shibe Park in Philadelphia was the first to be held under the lights and featured the debut of Stan Musial in the first of his many appearances. He did not disappoint, driving in a run in his first at bat, but it wasn’t enough as the AL came back to take the tilt, the eighth year in a row that the AL had triumphed. The 19 signatures (all in the same fountain pen) on this Reach Official League baseball feature Bobby Doerr, Vern Stephens, Ken Keltner, Luke Appling, Rudy York, Hal Newhouser, Joe McCarthy, Bill Dickey.
