1945 Jackie Robinson Breaks The Color Line, Original Wire Photo
In his military uniform, Lieutenant Jack Roosevelt Robinson looks up confidently while signing his first baseball contract, August 28, 1945. After discussions with Branch Rickey, Jackie Robinson signed with the Montreal Royals, a Dodgers farm team, moving up to the Majors in 1947. By 1949, he hit .342 for the NL Batting title, and was elected MVP. The rest, of course, is history. This 8 1/4" x 6 1/2" black and white photo has an International News stamp on the reverse. A caption proof is affixed to the reverse. Overall condition is EX.
